Overpriced

I ordered these at the recommendation of my ankle surgeon after ORIF and syndesmosis repair surgery. After 8 weeks in the boot, I needed a sneaker I could fit my brace into and also needed it to be backless due to other issues, so my options were very limited. Skechers are squishy but not actually supportive, OOFOS were too big in the wrong places, so I went with these because I figured at this price they MUST be good.

So, the support does seem to be the best of what I tried, though of course it's hard to evaluate when there are odd aches and pains from my recovery. I'm wearing them every time I walk around, so a lot more than most people probably would, and in 2 weeks of that they seem to be holding up well. Surprisingly, even though I had to size up for my brace, I haven't felt like they were going to come off, like other backless shoes might feel.

The velcro however is a royal pain if you're trying to keep it open. Simply put? You can't. Especially annoying for my particular situation. It also doesn't feel like you can really make many adjustments to the tightness of the velcro, which is important as swelling increases or decreases.

Not in love with the pressure points, so I put the insoles over them when wearing as slides.

Lastly, the stitching is already coming lose in the heel right at the crease when it's folded over as slides.

ANCE are the best.

ANCE are the most amazing sneakers I have worn. They are lightweight, very supportive and extremely comfortable. They are the only shoes that I own that I can easily wear without my orthodics. I can’t imagine ever wearing any other sneaker!

Product FAQs

How do I choose the right size?

Unsure about fit? Most customers find their true size works best. If you’re between sizes, have wide feet, or are unsure choose half a size up.

Do the sneakers come with ice packs, and are they reusable?

Yes, each pair comes with a reusable set of Ance ice packs that can be stored in the freezer between uses.

Will my feet stay cool in these sneakers, and how long should I wear the ice pack?

Yes. When using the included ice packs, your feet will experience soothing cooling relief for 10–15 minutes, ideal post-workout or after long periods on your feet. We recommend icing for 10–15 minutes at a time. Always consult your healthcare provider if you’re unsure how long is safe for your specific needs.

Can I wear sneakers without ice packs?

Yes. The ice pack sleeves are unobtrusive when empty, so you can wear the sneakers like any other recovery shoe.

Can I adjust the tightness of the strap?

Yes. The strap is fully adjustable, so you can dial in your preferred level of compression and support.

Do the acupressure dots help with plantar fasciitis or heel pain?

Yes. Many users find the stimulation helps ease tension in the plantar fascia and improve foot mobility over time.

Will the acupressure dots wear out over time?

They’re built for durability, but like all footwear components, may gradually wear with frequent use. Replacement kits may be offered in the future.

Are the acupressure dots comfortable and do they make noise while walking?

They’re designed for short to medium periods of therapeutic use. While they may feel intense at first, most users find them energizing and relieving over time. Despite their raised texture, the dots are soft and built into the footbed, so they don’t make noticeable noise during wear.

What is EVA foam and why is it used?

EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a lightweight, flexible foam used for cushioning and shock absorption. It offers great rebound and all-day comfort without weighing you down.

What are the benefits of a wide toe box?

It helps prevent and relieve bunions, hammertoes, and neuromas by reducing compression on the toes. It also promotes better posture and foot strength, while reducing strain on your plantar fascia.

What kind of shoes are best for plantar fasciitis and bunions?

Sneakers with arch support, cushioning, and a wide toe box are ideal. Ance recovery sneakers are designed with all three to reduce pressure on sensitive areas and support foot alignment.
